David Billa Cinema Review, David Billa

“David Billa” Movie Story:
The story starts with David Billa (Ajith Kumar) who is an escapee in the name refugee of Sri Lanka. He will come to India to seek a hideaway. He will face the ill treatment in the local refugee camp and starts a revolution on the authorities who are responsible to treat the refugees harshly.

With this he gains followers, friends and helpers with their help and his talent he will slowly climb the stairs of crime world by utilizing every opportunity in a very fine manner. Unfortunately he meets Abbasi (Sudhanshu Pandey) and with his assistance David Billa growth will rise just like anything.

Abbasi gives Billa opportunities to utilize his courage and intelligence. The opportunities include usual gang of corrupt cops, lawyers and government officials and others. In between a brief romantic track between Billa and Sameera (Bruna Abdullah) comes as a spark while Parvati Omanakuttan is seen beside Billa’s.

Things get cheerless when an East European arms dealer Dimitri comes into the scene. Because of the deal dispute arises between Abbasi and Billa.

What is the reason of the dispute? Who finally got the deal? What happen to Billa finally? is the remaining story.

The Performances in David Billa:
Ajith has delivered fabulous performance especially in action sequences. His looks are sharp and attractive. The costumes also suited him lot he is good in both the lungi as well as the tuxedo. His body language suited perfectly to the character of David Billa.

Subhanshu Pandey is noble in the character of Abbasi. He is smooth and stylish in his performance. Vidyut Jamal is decent in the role of Dimitri, it seems he has given his 100% for his character.

But Rahman is wasted for an extremely brief and meaningless character and appearance. Parvati Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah have very poor roles and they don’t have more to do. The romantic track also seemed too dull.

Ilavarasu is super in his brief role. Ajith’s entry sequence is very impressive. There is a sequence in the second half title songs will remember us James Bond films and it is nice. The movie looks commercial with grand visuals and interesting locations in the entire movie.

David Billa Movie Analysis:
David Billa has a lot of style sequences but absolutely no interesting concept. Ajith’s action will be a big asset for the movie his fans will surely love his super cool looks and his fights. But this movie will be bit though for the common movie lovers. David Billa will be very familiar with Al Pacino’s ‘Scarface’ movie story.

Screenplay is not so good and lacks passion, in many senses the Pace keeps going very slow in the movie. Emotional depth is not categorized well to the proceedings and one fails to feel sorry for with the character of David Billa. Some of the important scenes in the film fall slow and do not make viewer satisfy.

Main drawback is lack of Telugu nativity; we can’t fell the Telugu nativity in the movie. Especially the Signboards and names of cities are not familiar Telugu names to give the movie bit local flavor, but effort has been not made in that point of view.

Technical Departments of David Billa:
We can say with this movie that Chakri Tholeti has not succeeded as a director with this movie. Brilliant scrip like ‘Scarface’ was not made in a proper aspect.

Screenplay was not appreciable and it affected the movie lot. Substandard narration worked a bit. Cinematography is outstanding this is a big advantage in the movie and the visuals are also superb.

With grand locations and expensive surroundings, the sense of luxury is very impressive when the Billa turns to a Don. Editing is poor and has been better. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music is ok but his background score is super for all scenes.

Telugu dialogues are not written in a powerful manner and dubbing work is very careless. Action episode sequences and stunts have been shot very well. Production values are very rich and make the movie commercial entertainer.
